I just (finally) got around to assembling the cabin I got with my Don’t Look Back box set. Over all, very nice kit. Fun to build, I did so over a couple sessions. Total time was probably 3 un-rushed hours.

    Some minor issues:
    – PDF instructions I downloaded show parts J4 for the doors. That isn’t correct (and I already junked the empty parts frame so can’t give you the correct part number. Sorry)
    – For me, the roof did not go together well. The join between the two parts at the peak just didn’t fit well. A better design may have been to have one join just under the lip of the other.
    – steps look good, but a based figure cannot stand on them
    – interior layout could do with maybe one or two less rooms, this would allow room for some furniture and still allow figure placement. (though I admit, I do like the layout).
    – only one chimney. Because you use it as a handle to lift off the roof panel you are stuck with one roof panel which will be hard to pull off in play. I used a short piece of plastic tube cut at the correct angle to stick up as a stove pipe/vent as a handle on the other panel.

The kit that came with the original version of the game comes with a cellar door, well, shed/out-building, some fences and some tombstones. All easy to assemble and pretty cool.

Over all, I like the kit a lot, hence the 4 stars. I’ve built other MDF kits, and with the exception of the roof peak this one was better than most I’ve put together. This is my first from Black Site. I’ve ordered the Camp Northwood set and can’t wait to get it and put it together. I hope to use them at the Siege of Augusta war-game convention this coming year and run some Don’t Look Back games (if I can get figures painted between now and then). I plan to buy more Black Site kits in the future, looking at the Pizzaria and maybe the big ship kit as well as others.
